    Job Description
    Position Requirements
    The Computer Science Department in the Petree College of Arts & Sciences is seeking an innovative and experienced leader who demonstrates a deep commitment to academic excellence and a belief in a liberal arts education where diversity and inclusion, ethical and critical thinking, and effective communication are highly valued. Successful candidates will have an ardent interest in curriculum development, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a willingness to engage in community outreach for recruitment and partnership building.
    A proven record of teaching, research, and service are required for this nine-month, tenure-track associate professor and chair of computer science position. At OKCU, Computer Science faculty teach undergraduate and graduate courses in programming, computer architecture, theory, networking, database, mobile and game applications, big data analysis, and cybersecurity. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled with a start date for the position of August 2020.      
    A Ph.D. in computer science (or closely related field) is required.  Candidates having finished Ph.D. coursework with ABD status will be considered.  University-level teaching experience is required and administration experience is desired.

    The department is located in the Petree College of Arts & Sciences and offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in computer science. Coursework emphasizes professional development and enhancement of skills, in depth study of computers, and a balance of abstract knowledge and practical understanding.
