    Job Description

    Position Overview:

    Compile, sort and verify the accuracy of data before it is entered. Compare data with source documents, or re-enter data in verification format to detect errors. Proofreads entered information to ensure accuracy. Prepares and distributes documents. Organize information alphabetically, by subject matter, or by using codes to maintain orderliness. Ensure that files are up-to-date, accurate, and readily available. Prepares mail merges and documents from excel spreadsheets. Store completed documents in appropriate locations. Locate and correct data entry errors, or report them to supervisors.
     

    Department Specific Essential Job Functions:

    Enters and updates data into the University of Central Oklahoma's computer database. Proofreads entered information to ensure accuracy. Prepares and distributes letters on a daily basis, as well as monthly reports. Maintains productivity level as established in Foundation policies. Provides telephone and secretarial support to the Development Office. Performs other duties as assigned. Other duties include comparing data with source documents, verifying or researching the accuracy of data, proofreading entered information to ensure accuracy, and preparing and distributing documents. Position requires the candidate to keep up to date files, prepare mail merges, store completed documents in appropriate locations, and locate data entry issues and either correct or report them to supervisors. Additionally, will begin assisting the information specialist with duties pertaining to report writing and database maintenance.

     

    Experience Required:

    Performs administrative or manual tasks. Requires general education or vocational training or equivalent combination of education and experience plus 1-3 years experience.

     

    Experience Preferred:

    High School Diploma or Equivalent. Data entry experience. Knowledge of Banner.

     

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    Basic computer knowledge. Attention to detail and proofreading skills. Effective communication and human relation skills. Proficient with use of internet as research tool. Demonstrated accurate and rapid keyboarding skills. Comfortable with learning new software.

    Physical Demands:

    Repetitive movement of hands and fingers - typing and/or writing. Frequent standing, and/or sitting. Occasional walking, stooping, kneeling or crouching. Reach with hands and arms. Visually identify, observe and assess. Ability to communicate with supervisor/students/colleagues. Regular physical attendance required.
