Coordinator Business Seminars
General Description
The coordinator will offer business consulting services to clients, assist in assessing needs of the
local business community and developing training opportunities to address those needs, and promote economic growth in predominantly by assisting new and existing companies in sustaining and expanding their businesses.
Essential Functions
-Coordinate the daily operations of the Business Assistance
-Center including assistance with scheduling business services for food
handlers, consulting appointments and recommending professional development
classes and seminars to BAC clients.
-Design and conduct a needs assessment of the local business
community.
-Work with staff of the Greater Oklahoma City Hispanic Chamber
of Commerce to identify instructors for classes, seminars, and workshops.
-Work with the health department and College Consortium to
set up certification classes for food handlers
-Organize businesses to implement business associations
-Develop and implement a marketing plan to publicize and
promote the BAC to the community. Plan will include budgeting of allocations
for marketing.
-Designated duties as assigned by supervisor
Minimum Education and Experience
-Bachelor’s degree In Business or Marketing
-Work experience in business, industry, economic development
or Marketing
Minimum Knowledge,
Skills, and Abilities
-Fluency in Spanish/English
-Strong problem solving skills and ability to effectively manage change
-Positive human relation skills and ability to work with a variety of people
-Positive oral and written communication skills
-Ability to speak effectively before both English- and Spanish-speaking groups
-Computer literacy
-Valid Oklahoma driver’s license and able to travel locally
-Ability to work flexible hours and to work in a dynamic environment
-Able to lift training materials and to arrange tables and chairs
